There is real money on the table for a UK AC + solar bundle in 2026. Here's every scheme, what it pays, and who it's for.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)

Eligible for: Owner-occupiers in England & Wales with a valid EPC (no outstanding loft/cavity recommendations)

Covers: Air source & ground source heat pumps (reversible air-to-air units qualify and provide cooling too)

Eligible for: Lower-income households (£36,000 gross or on benefits) in England, administered by local authorities from April 2025

Covers: Solar PV, heat pumps, insulation, and in some packages, complementary measures

Eligible for: Households on benefits or in EPC bands D to G, via their energy supplier

Covers: Solar PV, heat pumps, insulation, heating controls

Eligible for: Homes in EPC bands D to G in council tax bands A to D (England, A to E Scotland)

Covers: Cavity wall / loft insulation (the upgrade that makes cooling effective and cheap)
