Single-split cooling system
One room usually gives you the cleanest single indoor-unit comparison.

Measure rooms by hand or import a SunCooled Apple RoomPlan scan. You will get a visual property map, a load range for each room and a clearer brief for single-split, multi-split or air-to-air heat-pump quotes.

Manual measurements work on any phone. A SunCooled iPhone scanner export fills the room dimensions, window area and floor positions automatically.
The browser reads the file locally. It is not uploaded. Raw Apple RoomPlan JSON and USDZ files need conversion by the companion scanner.

Heating and permission route
Your stated need is cooling rather than replacement heating. A correctly sized inverter split is the more direct comparison, with solar used during overlapping daytime hours.
| Room | Area | Load range | Planning capacity | Estimated input | First action |

| Living room | 14 m² | 1.5 to 2.2 kW | 2 kW | 0.63 kW | Use blinds or external shade before peak afternoon sun and close off unused warm rooms. |
The property range adds every selected room as though it reaches peak load together. Real diversity, door positions, pipe lengths, outdoor-unit limits and manufacturer combinations may reduce or change the final equipment selection. LiDAR measures geometry, not insulation, glazing performance or heat leakage.
Next step
Save the plan, then ask installers to confirm the heat loads, pipe routes, electrical supply and outdoor-unit combinations on site.
What LiDAR adds
Apple RoomPlan can identify walls, windows, doors and openings while you walk around a room. Multiple room captures can be combined into a property structure. SunCooled converts that geometry into the same editable inputs used by the manual planner.
What LiDAR cannot see
A scan does not reveal U-values, air leakage, solar-control glass, external shade or how every room is used. Confirm those details in the planner. Treat the result as a pre-survey brief, not an equipment design.
iPhone companion status
The native scanner source supports LiDAR-equipped devices and exports privacy-conscious geometry for this planner. Public App Store or TestFlight distribution still requires a signed Apple release, so the website does not pretend that browser scanning is available today.

Ask about scanner testingA supported iPhone or iPad can use Apple's RoomPlan framework to identify walls, windows, doors, openings and approximate dimensions. The result still needs checking before it is used for equipment selection or building work.
No. Apple exposes RoomPlan through a native iPhone and iPad app. The live web planner accepts manual measurements or a normalized JSON file created by the SunCooled scanner companion.
It helps with room geometry and window area. It cannot determine insulation, glazing performance, external shade, air leakage, occupancy or installation constraints, so those remain separate inputs and an installer must verify the final capacity.
The live planner reads an imported JSON file in your browser and stores the editable plan in local browser storage. It does not upload the scan or raw camera images.
Not automatically. The planner identifies when a multi-split comparison is worth requesting, but pipe lengths, simultaneous loads, minimum output, efficiency and manufacturer combinations can make separate systems a better design.
